Diabetes home care services are available for people with diabetes living at home. There are various aspects of diabetes management that require ongoing care. A qualified health professional trained in diabetes care will ensure that your diabetes is properly managed.
Home care services can include:
1. blood sugar monitoring – glucose meter readings are taken regularly to measure blood glucose levels
2. insulin administration – insulin may be injected or administered by pump
3. nutritional management – diet, exercise and fluid intake are closely monitored
4. foot care – feet are examined regularly and appropriate footwear is selected
5. emotional support – counselling and other stress management techniques may be used as required
